Well, Wrimos, the celebration of me took a heavy toll. I am still recovering from the weekend – but not for the reasons you might think. Seriously, I only had one vodka the whole weekend! No, I was suffering from mega carb overload (from Chinese takeaway, pizza, a huge steak lunch with chips and a loaded potato, and a massive chocolate dessert – not all on the same day, but still…).
I also saw “Bohemian Rhapsody” at the cinema with my husband and (most of) my children (two out of three, that is) and one boyfriend (not mine, my daughter’s) – where was I going with this? That’s right – “Bohemian Rhapsody”. I LOVED IT SO MUCH. If you’re a Queen fan, just go and see it. Rami Malek is phenomenal as Freddie Mercury, and the rest of the casting is just spot on. The recreation of their set at Live Aid in 1985 gave me goosebumps (because I’m old enough to remember when it actually happened!) Look it up on YouTube – you won’t regret it.
But now, to business. Due to the various celebratory shenanigans (see above) I didn’t get much writing done over the last few days. BUT tonight I added two hours to my total, bringing it to 25.5 hours, and my revised manuscript now stands at 49,581 words. I think it needs, perhaps, 10,000 more? But anyway, my goal is 50 hours so I’m just over halfway there with 10 days to go…Can I do it? I really hope so.
I’m going to leave you with this iconic image of Queen. RIP Freddie. We’ll always love you.
